MARAH unveils ‘LULA’ EP following epic Deadrocks performance

With ‘LULA,’ MARAH delivers her most personal work yet, cementing her place on Deadbeats as one of bass music’s rising names.

Vancouver-based DJ and producer MARAH has released her second EP, “LULA,” marking her first full project on Deadbeats. The four-track release comes after she opened for Zeds Dead at her debut Red Rocks Amphitheatre performance this month.

The EP blends dubstep, trap, techno and UK club influences, showcasing the range of MARAH’s production style. The project opens with the previously released “Talk To Me,” which features hypnotic vocal chops and rolling basslines. Additional tracks include “LOUDER” with Ugly Lungs, “TAKE IT” featuring Crucial, and the title track “LULA” featuring Jessy Covets.

MARAH shared, “This release is a body of work that truly represents me as an artist. It captures everything I love about music – it’s heavy, deep, fun, exciting, and personal. Every part of me exists within these songs, and this project truly is the most honest reflection of who I am creatively. I’m incredibly grateful and honoured to have my second EP debut on Deadbeats. Creating this project alongside some of my favorite artists, and friends made the experience even more special, and I hope listeners enjoy these songs as much as I did while making them.

“Lula,” the title track of the EP, represents fearlessness and continuing to push through obstacles. It’s about proving to myself that I belong here just as much as anybody else and continuing forward with confidence and purpose. Working with Jessy on this song was incredible, she really brought this song to life. I can’t thank Deadbeats and Harrison enough for believing in me and believing in this project. I hope people listen to this EP, dance to it, rage to it, connect with it, and truly enjoy the experience from beginning to end.”

The producer described the title track as representing fearlessness and pushing through obstacles. “It’s about proving to myself that I belong here just as much as anybody else and continuing forward with confidence and purpose,” she said.

The release arrives as MARAH builds momentum in the bass music scene. She recently completed a touring run supporting Hamdi across the U.S. and Western Canada, and has performed at Shambhala, Lightning in a Bottle, Bass Coast, Fvded in the Park and DEF’s Hulaween stage. She will join Zeds Dead for additional support dates later this year.

MARAH has earned support from artists including Zeds Dead, Hamdi, EPROM, Sicaria and Notion, establishing her presence as an emerging voice in bass music.
