Whethan cancels Shambhala and Vegas appearances for Oliver Tree’s memorial service

Whethan has shared an emotional message after postponing upcoming performances to mourn the loss of his longtime friend Oliver Tree.

Whethan has announced that he is canceling his upcoming set at Shambhala Music Festival and postponing two Las Vegas shows so he can attend the memorial service for his close friend and creative partner, Oliver Tree. The producer shared the news in an emotional message on social media, saying it was a difficult but necessary decision.

In his statement, Whethan explained that Oliver Tree is being honored at his memorial, and that’s where he feels he needs to be. He apologized to fans who were planning to see him over the next week and thanked them for understanding.

The cancellation is especially tough for fans heading to Shambhala, as Whethan said he had been looking forward to playing the festival for a long time. He shared that he was excited to finally experience it with everyone and hopes he’ll get the chance to return in the future for an even bigger set.

There is some good news for fans with tickets to his Vegas shows. Whethan confirmed that both performances have been moved to August 6 and 7, and all current tickets will automatically be honored for the new dates. Anyone who can’t make the rescheduled shows can also request a refund through their original point of purchase.

Whethan ended his message with another apology, saying he’s incredibly sorry to everyone whose plans have been affected. He also thanked fans for all the love and support they’ve shown him over the past few weeks, adding that it means more than he can put into words.

While fans are understandably disappointed, many have flooded the comments with supportive messages and encouraged Whethan to take all the time he needs. Sometimes there are things bigger than the music, and for Whethan, being there to honor one of the most important people in his life came first.

Hey everyone, I'm Neil! I first joined the dance community back in 2019 when my friend dragged me to Moonrise, my first-ever music festival, and I became hooked ever since. I like to dabble in most genres with my favorites being tech house and melodic techno. When it comes to studio output, Camelphat is part of my daily listening rotation and for a live performance, I'll never miss a Solomun set. You can likely catch me on the dance floor somewhere in Brooklyn!
