OM RECORDS CELEBRATES 25 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY

In the midst of 2020’s jumani, Om Records, a label headquartered in San Francisco, CA, celebrates 25 years in operation. Starting in 1995 as a little shop on Haight Street, this millennial company has earned a global presence in the music industry, working alongside artists such as Bassnectar, Kaskade, Blackbird Blackbird, and many more. As a music production mecca, they have given a platform to artists across the country, as well as the culture and people of San Fran, one of the most artistically activated areas of the United States, a hub for political change, and a refuge for diversity and all those that champion human rights and equality. In celebration of this 25th anniversary milestone, Om Records has put out singles titled “Let’s Try,” production by Brooklyn’s Body Language, Mark Farina & Homero Espinosa’s single “The Story,” and “Sunlite” by Reptile Room.

In terms of music proliferation, Om Records regularly complies playlists to engage listeners and lovers of electronic music, and although each playlist might have a theme, the track lists are diverse, lengthy, and juicy, featuring a little something for all tastes. The playlist “Om Yoga” is perfect for meditation, while others like “Mushroom Jazz” and “Om Deep House,” which epitomize bay area culture, are probably better suited for pop up art venues, clubs, and/or lounges.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
