Beatsource & Beatport announce merger into one platform

Beatsource and Beatport recently announced the merging of their two platforms, with Beatsource transferring to Beatport in March of 2026.

Current Beatsource subscribers will be prompted to transition to Beatport, combining the platform’s features and files into a single, inclusive app. This will combine users’ playlists and histories from both sources, allowing DJs to access their entire music catalog using one source.

For those who have been logging into and using Beatsource regularly, login credentials will transfer over to Beatport. It is important to clarify that producers should download any purchased tracks before the transition from Beatsource to Beatport, as those may be lost during transfer.

Once users transition their files over to Beatport, their Beatsource account will no longer be active. While this may disappoint Beatsource’s loyal following, the transition ultimately provides value to DJs who maintain accounts on both platforms by consolidating their tools and libraries into one streamlined system.

For those new to Beatport, this library catalog is a popular tool used by artists in the electronic music scene, while Beatsource is more applicable for other music genres such as hip-hop, rock, Latin, rap, and beyond. With this integration, users from either platform will be able to access a broader combined catalog under a single account and subscription.

Plan options do vary, and subscribers will need to select their preferred tier once they transition over to Beatport. Depending on the chosen plan, some users may see a decrease (or an increase) in their monthly costs. This union will allow the exploration of a multitude of music genres, increasing discovery capabilities for all users.

Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels describes this move as “raising the bar for what a premium DJ service should be.” Users are encouraged to keep an eye on their email inboxes, as this migration officially begins on March 3rd. A step-by-step guide will be provided, ensuring a smooth process for all parties involved. This key transition aims to bring the DJ community together, supporting producers from every genre on one inclusive platform.
