Beatport Reveals Impressive Next Class of 2023 Emerging Artists

The forthcoming Beatport class will feature artists ANNĒ, Closet Yi, Coco & Breezy, Confidential Recipe, HoneyLuv, Junior Simba, Lens & Mala Ika

The global brand Beatport – an inventive music platform dually based in two of the most renowned EDM hubs in the world, otherwise known as Berlin and L.A. – recently unveiled its “Beatport Next” Class of 2023, a promising roster of upcoming talent. The list consisted of the talented young music producers ANNĒ, Closet Yi, Coco & Breezy, Confidential Recipe, HoneyLuv, Junior Simba, Lens & Mala Ika.

Beatport originally began this program back in 2021 with the intention of discovering promising talent. The program provided these young artists with much-needed promotional tools to amplify their talent. Over the program’s year-long course, the Beatport Next promotional bolstering offered homepage features, banners, and priority placement for all store items. The program also touted playlist spots, in-house editorial coverage, live streams, and managed social media support.

Last year’s class of artists (i.e. 8Kays, AMÉMÉ, Emily Nash, Jaden Thompson, Marina Trench, Nia Archives, Nikki Nair, and Risa Taniguchi) experienced a 353% increase in Beatport store revenue and a 213% rise in Beatport followers.

This 2023 class of artists sports an impressive and inspiring range of diversity. ANNĒ was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, where she began producing and DJing at a young age. Closet Yi is a South Korean DJ and producer who began her career at the Hyundai Card Music Library as a resident DJ and librarian, while Coco & Breezy spun as an all-female Afro-Latina group in New York City. Confidential Recipe got his start in Maracaibo, Venezuela, although he now resides in Bogota Colombia. HoneyLuv was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, while Junior Simba originally hailed from Zimbabwe. Lens got her start in the UK and Mala Ika discovered his love of music in Guadeloupe, France.

Clearly, this is a curated group and a powerful class of creators and visionaries. We look forward to seeing all that this group grows to be 2023 and beyond!
