Lola Young makes first public appearance since collapsing on stage

After months of uncertainty, Young’s message offered fans something they hadn’t had since September: She’s looking forward, not away.

Lola Young broke her silence Saturday with an Instagram message to fans, marking her first direct update since collapsing on stage in September and signaling a possible return to live performances in 2026.

The post came just days after Young made her first public appearance in nearly three months. On Dec. 19, the 23-year-old singer was photographed attending a Christmas party in London hosted by Lily Allen, alongside artists including Olivia Rodrigo. The sighting prompted renewed interest from fans who had been awaiting word on her recovery and future plans.

“I just wanted to express gratitude to everyone who has given me time and space to gather myself and get my head in a better place,” Young wrote in her message. “I’ve felt so much love and support from you all and it has helped more than you will ever know.”

Young collapsed during a performance at the All Things Go festival in New York City in September, abruptly cutting short what had been a breakthrough year in her career. Shortly after the incident, she canceled her remaining North American tour dates and told fans she would be “going away for a while” to focus on her health, offering few details at the time.

In her latest update, Young struck a hopeful tone about the future. “I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams,” she wrote, before adding, “Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026.”

The singer had released her third album, ‘I’m Only F**king Myself,’ in September to critical praise and was set to support the project with an international tour before her health scare forced a pause.

Complicating matters, Young’s legal team filed a dispute in London in October against producer Carter Young, alleging unearned songwriting credits related to her work. She closed her message with a reflective note: “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well.”

I've been writing, covering events, and doing interviews with Exron for nearly four years, but have been an EDM-lover for over a decade. The music community and industry has a special place in my heart and I love exploring the depths. EDC Las Vegas is my favorite festival and this year will be my sixth time attending. Some other recent festivals I've been are Ultra, Elements, Lost Lands, Electric Forest, and Arc. I've been getting more into experimental bass, but techno and house will always have my heart. <3
