Shlump Makes SSKWAN Debut with New Downtempo Single “Dreams”

Don’t skip a beat, grab your earbuds to experience the new single from Shlump “Dreams” making his SSKWAN debut streaming now.

Shlump’s debut on SSKWAN showcases his new single, “Dreams” changing it up with a downtempo beat. This new single is followed by his release on WAKAAN, “Psychedelic Explorer,” which dropped this summer in June. Primarily known for his upbeat bass tempos or better yet “alien bass music,” but he’s shifting gears.

Towards the end of August, Shlump shared his excitement with fans via Instagram about his newest single. The post captioned, “My @sskwanofficial debut, Dreams comes out next week! It’s the first release in a series of chiller and more groovy songs I have made ?✌?. If you have listened to Stardust Vol 2 you are prob already familiar 🙂 September 8th, save the date ?.”

Additionally, many fans were excited to listen to this new song, “Ooo can’t wait to hear it,” noted one commenter. The new downtempo style featured in, “Dreams,” is somewhat fitting to the artist’s name. On the contrary, the definition of a schlump is a slow, slovenly, or inept person, which mirrors the new sound exploration.

“One of the parts of making music that I enjoy most is trying different tempos and approaches to writing,” stated Shlump. The single was released on September 8th, accompanied by a WAKAAN official visualizer video debuting the same day. Moreover, the video illuminates kaleidoscope visuals fueled with neuron transitions, oozing into lava-like expressions.

Indeed, the track initiates a sleepy lullaby-like trance, fading into a sample procured from the cult classic tv show, The Twilight Zone. “Who’s to say which is the greater reality: the one we know or the one in dreams.” The slow tempo builds up to an echoey reverberated beat. The low basslines interlace with a waterfall of synthesizers.

Then leads us back to the narration of Rod Serling from the Perchance to Dream episode circa 1959. “They say a dream takes only a second or so, and yet in that second a man can live a lifetime.” The mesmerizing sounds engulf the listener’s ear, embedding a sense of sleep. Furthermore, the song paints a beautiful visual of the fine line between reality and dreams.
