Danceportation brings Mersiv, Manic Focus, and more to Meow Wolf Denver

Danceportation transformed Denver’s beloved Meow Wolf into a bass-filled playground for Mersiv, Manic Focus, and other heavy hitters.

Located in the heart of Denver, Meow Wolf’s spectacular four-story immersive playground spans roughly 90,000 square feet and draws art-lovers and thrill-seekers from near and far. Known for its kaleidoscopic environments, interactive soundscapes, and story-rich installations, Meow Wolf has become a destination where guests can fully immerse themselves in art.

But on Friday, October 24th, Meow Wolf transformed: its normally all-ages corridors and curated galleries gave way to an after-hours high-energy bass music takeover. With the arrival of Danceportation, the venue turned 21+ for the night and became a psychedelic wonderland.

The collision of live music and Meow Wolf isn’t a new concept—the venue’s calendar often features DJs and live performers in its venue space. But Danceportation is a next-level concept, inviting artists to treat the entire building as their stage—from the neon-lit “C-Street,” to the otherworldly castle of “Eemia,” to the futuristic chambers of “Numina.”

With four distinct stages, Danceportation boasted heavy hitters: Mersiv, Denver’s own freeform bass visionary, headlined alongside Manic Focus, Notixx, Kumarion, and many others. True to form, Mersiv’s set was a multi-dimensional journey, followed by a surprise performance from Jaenga, a staple of bass music’s underground.

Each stage was thoughtfully laid out, delicately blending crowd control with freedom of movement. It was just as easy to find a comfortable spot and bask in the atmosphere as it was to wander between stages and follow the beat. Bars were situated on each floor, allowing for quick re-fueling without missing a moment of the magic.

For those lucky enough to attend this installment of Danceportation, the night has been described as a dream come true. The crossover between Meow Wolf and dance music has always felt natural, and Danceportation brings that harmony of sound and imagination to life. And for those who missed it, Danceportation’s next announcement can’t come soon enough.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
