Mersiv surprises fans with new album ‘Nostalgia’ and first single ‘KICKBACK’

Colorado bass music mainstay Mersiv has wiped his Instagram as he prepares to usher in a new era with his forthcoming album, ‘Nostalgia’.

The artist revealed the news in a new post, announcing that his third studio album, ‘Nostalgia’, is slated to arrive this fall. The first taste of the project, “KICKBACK,” is set to drop Tuesday, August 25, marking the beginning of a rollout that already has fans searching for clues.

Similar to his approach in the studio, Mersiv is taking an unconventional approach to the album campaign. On Monday, August 24, five vinyl copies of “KICKBACK” will be hidden inside record stores across the U.S., alongside three single demos from the forthcoming album. Fans who comment “NOSTALGIA” on his announcement post will receive access to hints pointing them toward the hidden records, with additional clues expected throughout the coming days.

The announcement comes nearly three years after Mersiv released his sophomore album, ‘Out of Bounds’, on his label, MorFlo Records. The 14-track project expanded beyond the freeform bass sound that had defined his early career, incorporating elements of hip-hop, pop, and other genres while featuring collaborations with some of the most popular artists in bass music at the time, including Wreckno, INZO, Saint Sinner, and HEYZ.

That album followed Mersiv’s 2021 debut, ‘Pretty Dark Loud’, which established the foundation for the Mersiv Sound Project and paved the way for the artist’s massive career. The 20-track collection explored the artist’s signature blend of immersive sound design and heavy bass while centering on themes of personal growth, emotion, and living in the present moment.

Mersiv has continued to build on his position as one of the industry’s leading bass music artists, with a global fanbase that doesn’t hesitate to jump on a plane to see him perform. His expanding catalog and high-profile performances have cemented the Mersiv Sound Project as a major force within the bass scene.

Now, Mersiv is bringing the focus back to new music. The ‘Nostalgia’ rollout will also hit home in Denver this weekend, with the artist set to perform a free show at Moodswing on Sunday, August 23.

With the album’s full tracklist, release date, and additional details still under wraps, “KICKBACK” will offer the first official glimpse into what Mersiv has been working toward.
