ELECTRIC FOREST ORGANIZERS LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS FOR 2021 EDITION

As we struggle with the pandemic continuing to surge, it is difficult to discern what the future holds for live concerts and popular large-scale festivals. Electric Forest is one of many annual events that is caught between the moral obligations of preventing the spread of COVID 19 and maintaining the relationship between artists, fans, and live performance spaces. Although Electric Forest is taking every precaution, their main focus allowing fans to return to the Sherwood Forest in 2021. Yet the recent spike in cases has caused fans to have concern about whether the event will occur at all. Electric Forest has set June as the tentative time the event will be taking place, yet has not released ticket information. Electric Forest 2020 was also cancelled, featuring big-name acts such as Flume, Major Lazer, and Diplo.

Electric Forest has even gone the extra mile to ensure their fans know they are committed to holding the electronic music community together by launching Home Projects. This interactive site allowed fans to take matters in their own hands and create their very own dance party this past summer during the festival’s originally scheduled weekend.

The electronic music community has been severely missing live performances and popular festivals. Electric Forest promises to find new solutions to fill the void while continuing to be responsible for public health.
