Ilan Bluestone’s ABGT700 set canceled despite 6 months of preparation
Six months of new music and visuals vanished into the storm after Ilan Bluestone’s anticipated set had to be canceled.
Ilan Bluestone spent the last six months prepping for his highly anticipated ABGT700 set. Then leading up, it came crashing down after severe weather disrupted Above & Beyond’s celebration at The Gorge Amphitheatre. The trance favorite revealed he has spent half a year making new music, visuals, and an entirely revamped show for the milestone event, only for Mother Nature to deliver a particularly brutal surprise.
Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 700 brought the Anjunafamily back to Washington’s iconic Gorge for another massive weekend of trance, with the celebration having already delivered a Friday Deep Set. Saturday was the main show to continue that momentum, with Blue stone and J-Ribbon among the artists scheduled to perform before the weather dramatically changed the evening’s plans.
As strong winds and incoming rain moved across the Pacific Northwest, organizers have temporarily paused the event and have instructed fans to leave portions of the venue. What has initially been a partial evacuation has eventually turned into a full venue closure, with attendees having been asked to vacate The Gorge altogether. Oliver Smith’s set has also been interrupted as safety concerns have taken priority over the night’s carefully planned schedule.
For Bluestone himself, the cancellation has hit particularly hard after months of work behind the scenes. He has shared that being informed he would not be able to perform as his set time approached has left him absolutely devastated, especially for the new experience specifically for ABGT700. His disappointment was then matched by gratitude toward fans who have continued to support him over the decade, while of course making sure everyone was safe.

The weather disruption has not completely extinguished the ABGT700 experience, however. Once conditions have improved enough for the venue to reopen, fans have returned to The Gorge and have brought the energy right back with them. Above & Beyond have ultimately taken control of the closing duties, delivering an emotional finale featuring familiar favorites alongside new music, giving Anjunafans the group-therapy moment they were promised.
Although Ilan’s long-awaited performance has been lost to the storm, his message has made clear that the set has not necessarily reached its final destination. After six months of preparation, new music and visuals will be ready for future shows. For now, ABGT700 has proven that even the most carefully planned trance weekend can get completely rewritten by the weather—but Blue stone has promised that this set will have its moment.
