Odesza to play special hometown show to celebrate Foreign Family’s 10-year anniversary
Seattle’s hometown heroes, Odesza, are returning to the Emerald City for the Foreign Family Collective’s tenth-anniversary celebration.
Over ten years ago, two college buddies in Washington started making music. Years later, their project became that of Odesza and the Foreign Family Collective. Odesza is the groundbreaking group that has brought drum lines into the dance world to mesmerize crowds with their captivating visual performances, bass, and dedicated fan base eager to see them perform live at least once.
Seattle and Washington State hold a place near the heart of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight, both Washington natives who attended Western Washington University just north of Seattle in Bellingham, Washington. Together, the duo founded the Foreign Family Collective in 2015. Earlier in their career, their time in Bellingham inspired the release of their first album, ‘Summers Gone.’
After graduation, the duo headed to Seattle, the city of grunge. Seattle is artsy, from the style to the people to the brooding weather. This inspired Odesza to write more, eventually leading to the creation of Foreign Family. With four albums, multiple tours, and a multiyear global tour for their album ‘The Last Goodbye,’ the duo has headlined mega-festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Lollapalooza, and Lightning in a Bottle. They have also sold out The Gorge, Madison Square Garden, Folsom Field, and The Greek Theatre.
Now in celebration of the decade anniversary of their Foreign Family Collective, Odesza and crew are returning back to the land where it all began with a special celebratory event for the fans who have been with them every step of the way. Announcing the show, Odesza wrote, “WOW… we can’t believe we’ve kept this running for 10 years! We were two kids starting Foreign Family for the love of music, community, and sharing incredible art. What a ride it’s been since March 2015. The fam has grown, but the goal has remained the same. So with a decade down, we gotta celebrate!? See you in Seattle on August 2nd. The lineup? That’s a secret, for now.” Stay tuned to see who’s announced next as the headliners, supporting acts, and special guests on August 2nd!
