Manic Focus Returns with Optimistic New Single “Back From the Future”
Full of funk and vibrancy, Manic Focus’ latest single is an explosive sonic experience
On Friday, February 4th funkadelic artist Manic Focus released his new single “Back From the Future” via the WAKAAN label.
Full of fun and vibrancy, this filthy three-minute long song was a nice change of pace from his most recent and chill album Coastline Mind Volume I. Unlike the tracks from Coastline, “Back From the Future” took a step away from Zen, peace, and harmony that the prior music exhibited. Instead, this new track focused more on heavy bass with a flair of futuristic-sounding elements.
Manic Focus commented, “This tune is about raging into the future with optimism and swag. I wrote the main idea in a hotel room before a show. I needed a song to bridge a gap in my set, so I made a big crunchy beat in 20 min. I played it that night and it went better than expected, so I elaborated on the idea and turned it into a full song with 2 drops.”
He went on to say, “I was imagining the energy of the crowd I was about to play for and putting that energy into a song. The vocals say ‘Bring that s*** back’, and that s*** is the awesome energy the fans bring to shows.”
With the release of “Back From the Future” WAKAAN announced on February 4th that a full EP from Manic Focus will be coming “s o o n.” While a release date for this new EP hasn’t been announced yet, listeners can certainly expect more music from the artist in the next upcoming months.
