Opiuo reveals he is ‘half deaf’ and has undergone multiple ear surgeries

Australia-based producer and electronic music artist, Opiuo, gives fans a vulnerable insight into the beauty behind the madness.

The artist shares the health struggles he has faced since the beginning of his life due to an underdeveloped or blocked eustachian tube. Moreover, he explains how this diagnosis has caused multiple surgeries where they cut through his ear and skull multiple times.

Ultimately, Opiuo has a left ear canal without anything between the outside world and his middle ear. Due to this, he is 95% deaf in his left ear, has a deafening level of tinnitus, and has a slightly numb face and tongue from all of the surgeries.

Opiuo creates a picture for his fans by describing how he used to have to plan surgeries in between tours, hoping he would be healed enough to get back on stage to make people dance immediately.
