Best Dance and Electronic Clubs in Miami 2022

The best clubs in Miami (electronic edition): ready, set, go!

Miami: best known for sun and sand, croquetas y empanadas, cocoa puffs, and cowboys. Yet beyond the humdrum, the tourist traps and Spring Breakers is one of the most culturally invigorated cities in the United States. From dusk to dawn, Miami buzzes with the unbridled energy of its Latin influence, its European laze-fair, and its American dream and drive. With so many spectacles and sites to see, it’s a tough call to map out the best dance clubs in the city, the strongest pulsations of electronic funk – but with this foolproof list of five we do our best, and we do our worst…

Oasis

A newly opened outdoor venue in Wynwood, Oasis has amassed considerable attention for its festival-esque sets and affordable events. From Dillon Francis to Gordo, Troyboi, Kaskade, Diplo, and many more, Oasis continues to attract top talent – and, championing the Lord’s work, much of the shenanigans are free (i.e. zero cover). The venue features a sprawling open area and outdoor stage, food trucks, bars, and lounges. For those looking to check out the local culture and ball on a budget, this spot is a must-see.

Floyd

Across the street from the church, formally known as E11even, is the disco dungeon Floyd. The dive bar has gone techno mainly showcases more reserved and artistic sets as well as local musicians. With groovy furniture and plenty of fuzzy rugs, the space feels comfy and cozy, yet also edgy. Floyd is also known for private parties and risqué, hush after hours. Helmed by the iconic Link Miami Rebels, Floyd’s reputation precedes itself as one of the top EDM venues in Miami.

Do Not Sit On The Furniture

For EDM fans in Miami, Do Not Sit is a local legend. A fun-sized club in South Beach, it’s unobstructed and covert from the curb yet it brims with life from within. Post fording the charming garden and courtyard (which sometimes features cozy movie screenings and community art events), club kids cross over into no-mans-land, entering a space of the wacky and the whimsy. Peculiar furniture pieces hang from the ceiling and walls while a whale disco ball churns above, illuminating the space in seafoam blues. As a Burning Man community hotspot, Do Not Sit On The Furniture always dishes deep playa house. As an added plus and fun fact, its resident DJs Dude Skywalker host the Burning Man camp Mikki Beach, best known for its dusty mouse ears.

Treehouse

Nestled adjacent to South Beach’s fabulous Valero gas station (a.k.a. every club kid’s late-night home base) is none other than Treehouse. Treehouse, just as it sounds, is truly a house in the trees. The walls are wooden planks and vines hang from the ceiling, drape across the DJ booth, and tickle your palms when stretched upward and into the air. With 24-hour-long sets, the space transforms into a verdant disco cave, a tavern among the trees.

Club Space

Club Space is easily the number one electronic dance venue in Miami, but arguably the best electronic dance venue in North America. It’s a club kid staple, a local legend, a pillar within the community, a transformer of culture, a yoga studio on Saturdays, a plant nursery, and pure magic. Space is best known for its sunrise sets on the terrace and its jaw-dropping lineups. Every EDM legend to ever do it has stepped through those doors – and every free-spirit, libertine, and rascal too.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
