SNAILS RETURNS FROM HIATUS FOLLOWING ALLEGATIONS WITH ‘SLIME TIME’ EP – [LISTEN]

SNAILS makes a blaring return to Vomitstep with his ‘Slime Time’ EP following allegations made against him last year.

Frederik Durand, best known as SNAILS, has returned with his signature filth-step soundscape in his highly anticipated ‘Slime Time’ EP. The three track EP, includes tracks such as “FROGKIND”, “BRAINFARTS”and “GASTROPODZ” which showcases the most guttural and heavy-hitting bass drops.

The release of this EP is synchronous to SNAILS‘ return to his initial soundscape of “vomitstep” music that will deliver a more relentless and explosive bass root. SNAILS‘ come back to his authentic dubstep sub-genre is encouraged by apprehension from fans as well as himself.

Although SNAILS is returning back to his roots, this ‘Slime Time’ EP does signify a rebranding of his music, as the EP showcases a more melodic ‘storytelling’ as well as brand new, state-of-the-art visuals. The music videos accompanying the three tracks have a more quirky and unique twist to it, as it illustrates SNAILS‘ as the main character in these videos, making the production of it more personal and whimsical.

The artwork featured in this EP is quite innovative as it features bizarre and grotesque imagery, including Durand depicted as a slug, his face covered in snails and beautiful shades of luminescent colors of pink, purple and blue to fit into the ‘Slime Time’ concept.

The ‘Slime Time’ Project is representative of what SNAILS would like to see listeners, along with members of the electronic dance community to see in him, it demonstrates his personal journey into becoming SNAILS. In saying so, SNAILS artwork is actually heavily influenced by the well-renowned artist, Salvador Dali.

Not only does this project include guttural and heavy-hitting soundscape, but it also features a significant switch in Durand’s visual aesthetics and representation, which incorporates both outlandish and funky elements.
