Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner drop first sonic offering of 2021, “Channel 43”, the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s massive hit “Channel 42”.

Highly-established electronic dance music legends Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner return to the release radar with their first sonic offering of the new year. Ringing in 2021 the right way, both renowned creative forces have teamed up to deliver a prime release, just in time to help decompress from the year we’ve all just had.

Channel 43” directly follows the mau5’s hit 2020 singleBridged By A Lightwave”, released alongside Canadian superstar Kiesza at the beginning of last November. It also serves as a follow-up to Gartner’s “Battlestations”, the DJ/prodcuer’s collaboration with dubstep powerhouse Kill The Noise. Out now on deadmau5’s very own mau5trap imprint, “Channel 43” is available to listen to across all streaming platforms.

Nine years ago, ‘> album title goes here <’ and its beloved “Channel 42” track was dropped. Since its release, it’s garnered over 9 million combined streams across platforms, marking it as a certified fan favorite. Ever since, many have been patiently waiting for another exhilarating collaboration between both venerated artists, and now can fully revel in the meticulously-crafted, audible magic that is at play here.

The atmospheric tune immediately begins with a heady tone, featuring the whirring and whooshing of what sounds like machine-like equipment. The tension slowly rises, and eventually the hard-hitting electro production elements quickly enter the space, effortlessly driving the listener throughout the high-octane tune’s energetic eight-minute runtime. Since its release at the beginning of this month, the track has already gained over 930K total streams across platforms, setting an exciting precedent for the infectious musical endeavor.

Despite the circumstances, Deadmau5 has been up to quite a lot over the past year. His recent collaborative release with Pharrell & Chad Hugo / The Neptunes, “Pomegranate“, marked a major milestone for the talent at the end of last May, with a propelling remix from esteemed techno maestro Carl Cox following shortly after. Recently, he’s performed at drive-in raves in San Bernardino, California and Hutto, Texas. The acoustic rendition of his single with Kiesza, “Bridged By A Lightwave” was also just released this weekend, in addition to a new limited edition merch collaboration with revered cyber punk artist Mad Dog Jones via Nifty Gateway.

2020 was busy for Wolfgang Gartner as well, with his 5-track ‘Tucson’ EP released in mid-July, in addition to his original production “Electric Soul”, released in October of the same year.
