Music Industry Prepares For ‘Black Out Tuesday’ In Light Of George Floyd Murder

Across the globe hearts are aching for what seems like a never-ending battle against racism. Thousands are gathering in cities across the U.S. to riot in the hopes of stirring a better future for the black community. Social media has come alive with those giving their support and taking a stand against racism. Now the music industry is taking their part, with the initiation of “Music Industry Black Out Tuesday”.

Tomorrow, Tuesday June 2nd, the music industry has vowed to take a day of silence. This will signal a break from work and from the norm to give remembrance to not only George Floyd, but also pay tribute to the innumerable injustices that have targeted black Americans throughout the last two hundred years. Although no one quite knows what it will take to end racism for good, countless Americans are spreading the word and raising funds in the hopes that change will ensue.

The music industry would be absolutely nothing without outstanding contributions from African Americans throughout the development of the arts via the human race. The industry as a whole accepts the responsibility of ending racism and bringing justice to those who have suffered for far too long.

Join the music industry tomorrow, while we disconnect from work and from life to bring love back to the community and share the pain and suffering that the black community has endured.
