House Producer Biscits Drops EP On Diplo’s Higher Ground- [Listen]

Higher Ground, Diplo’s sister label to Mad Decent, released a two-track EP by Biscits, a Southampton Aussie and house DJ. According to Biscits, the tracks remind him of his introduction to Diplo after Australia’s Listen Out Festival. More specifically, the two tracks on the EP are actually the first songs Biscits previewed for Diplo post the festival.

The fist track, “Sit Down,” features Sarah Kellar and the catchy lyrics, “The music’s getting to me I just want to sit down…” while the second, “DRUGS,” showcases Biscits solo. Both the tracks feature cheeky monologues, almost chants, that emanate that unmistakable energy often found in the grime-scene, or at underground raves. The second song on the EP, “DRUGS,” loops a particularly captivating monologue alluding to the inception of a “synthetic” substance that makes you “love everyone.” The music is upbeat, a house rumination of sorts, as it carries atop its shoulders a beep-bop-lover’s food for thought.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
