Fans React To Space Jesus’ New EP Following Sexual Assault Allegations

Space Jesus has released new music for the first time after sexual assault allegations and fan support remains fairly split.

Not many artists can make a comeback after facing public backlash, but DJ/producer Space Jesus is attempting to make his return after being accused of sexual assault. In 2020, Space Jesus took a hiatus from touring and releasing music because of his lawsuit against former girlfriend Michaela Higgins.

Michaela Higgins aka Caeli La created Instagram accounts @evidenceagainstspacejesus and @evidenceagainstsnails to compile screenshots accusing both artists of sexual assault. In response to these claims, Space Jesus filed a lawsuit against Higgins on the grounds of defamation.

Recently he announced matters were resolved internally between the two, but Higgins added that she chose not to take the case to trial, because she wanted to keep other victims’ names anonymous.  She shared that Space Jesus and his family attempted to offer her $80,000 for her silence.

After coming to what Space Jesus would say is a resolution, he dropped a 9-track EP titled Book II. His first attempt at playing a show after the allegations was in December 2021 in Maui, HI, and social media then had varying opinions on his return.

The same feelings seemed to have carried over to his EP release. Fans and haters took to social media to share their thoughts on Space Jesus’ new music. Check out some of the most interesting comments people had to say.

An Atlanta gal chasing her love for electronic dance music. I’ve been with Exron since 2018 and have the privilege of contributing to the culture alongside other badass women whom I now call my friends. My introduction to the scene was first influenced by trap music, but my discography has since expanded to touch a bit of everything. Some of my favorite artists are Zeds Dead, Cloonee, Nghtmre, Flume, Infekt, Sosa, Bleu Clair, Subtronics, but the list goes on forever.
