Mac Miller’s ‘Balloonerism’ re-release confirmed at Camp Flag Gnaw
Mac Miller’s lost album, ‘Balloonerism’ has been confirmed for official re-release.
It has been confirmed that Mac Miller’s ‘Balloonerism’ will officially be re-released on all streaming platforms soon. The news of the posthumous album was announced at Tyler the Creator’s, Camp Flog Gnaw, this past weekend. While audiences waited for The Alchemist and Friends to perform, a project trailer revealed that the lost album would be officially re-released.
This will be the third project that Mac Miller’s estate will officially release for public consumption after his death. The first was his posthumous studio album, ‘Circles’ released in 2020. The second project was the re-release of his masterful EP ‘Faces,’ in 2021, which was initially made in 2014. ‘Faces’ was an independently released mixtape that was free to download when it first came out. The experimental EP is known to be a psychedelic experience made from 25 kaleidoscopic tracks.
In February 2020, it was confirmed that Miller was also privately working on another project called ‘Balloonerism.’ Mac Miller reportedly worked heavily on the mixtape between the years 2013 and 2014. This was before ‘Faces’ and ‘Watching Movies with the Sound Off” were released.
‘Balloonerism’ embraces topics that Faces did not touch on, speaking highly of grief and sadness. The project was reportedly shelved by his label for originally being “too out there.” It is an experimental project that explores Mac Miller’s artistic ability. It is argued by many that ‘Balloonerism’ walked so ‘Faces‘ could run.
Mac Miller has had 22 mixtapes and albums released in his 26 years of life. There are many other alter egos that Miller published music under including Larry Fisherman, Delusional Thomas, and Larry Lovestein (& the Velvet Revival).
Although there is no release date yet, fans can expect the 16-track lost album to be released soon. To stay up to date with more information on the release make sure to follow @macmillermemoir. The full track list for ‘Balloonerism’ is rumored to be…
