Patrick Topping successfully sells out first alcohol-free event

Patrick Topping has switched up the vibes encouraging fans to go on a sober journey at an alcohol-free event and received an incredible response.

Who says you need booze to have a banging night out? Patrick Topping just proved that all you really need are killer beats, good vibes, and a crowd ready to rave! His first-ever alcohol-free event, The Sober October Rave, sold out and turned out to be an absolute hit, leaving everyone dancing like there was no tomorrow – without the next-day hangover. It was held in New Castle at the World Headquarters and ran throughout the day time.

Patrick Topping gushed in an Instagram post after the event and said:“1st sober rave, wow! “Some people thought I was mad for starting an alcohol-free event, but it sold out and atmosphere was insane!” He made it clear that he wasn’t trying to restrict anyone’s fun but wanted to add a fresh option to the party scene. “This isn’t about taking away people’s choice; it’s about providing an extra choice. Also, some people need this type of event.” And people loved it.

The rave drew a diverse crowd field with “fitness fanatics, people in recovery, but mainly sober curious ravers who didn’t want to feel like crap the next day for change ” who wanted to see what it felt like to dance the night away without feeling rough the next day. “It was amazing to see the energy and everyone proper going for it!” Topping said in his post. He admitted he’d been nervous, but his gut feeling told him this could be something special. “I’m f*kin buzzing!” he added. Plus, he’s already teasing a follow-up event for Dry January.

This alcohol-free adventure is more than just a one-off experiment for Topping; it’s a reflection of his own personal journey. On June 24, he celebrated one year of complete sobriety. “1 year today off the drink,” he shared in a Facebook post. “I’ve done a year before in 2018, but don’t think I’d go back this time. Never say never tho.” 

Patrick Topping said that giving up alcohol while DJing was, the “best decision ever” for his career, and embracing a fully sober lifestyle has been a game changer. Now, he is aiming for two years alcohol-free.
