Solomun and DJ Tennis to host special ‘non-birthday celebration’ in Berlin

Solomun and DJ Tennis have announced a special event in Berlin on their birthdays this December.

Solomun and DJ Tennis will be playing a special b2b set in Berlin on Friday, December 27th. The two DJs have just announced that they will be hosting a shared event at the iconic Wilhelm Studio for the first time together.

On the advertising poster for this event, it is written that the party is a “non birthday but birth day. No cake no birthday wishes. This is not a birthday party. Save the cake for someone else. No wishes. No gifts. We’re here to dance.” Although they have demanded no birthday banter, it sure does feel like a gift to the people of Berlin.

Coincidentally, both Solomun and DJ Tennis share the same birthday, December 27th. They have playfully insisted that they are, “definitely not celebrating their birthdays,” although the event will actually be hosted on their birthday. Solomun will be turning 49 and DJ Tennis will be turning 55 that evening. The two electronic music pacemakers are projected to sell out the 1,600-person venue in the heart of the city.

Berlin has some of the richest history when it comes to nightlife culture. With famous venues like Berghain and KitKat Club, the city is a home base for eclectic, genre-defying, and deep techno music.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
