Which DJs are Scientologists?

Eenie meenie miney mo, catch scientologist DJs by their toes.

Scientology is one of those shrouded, Illuminati-esque whisperings on the wind from the bizarre land that is Hollywood. Tons of celebrities, including DJs, are reportedly hush-hush Scientologists, which can only be deduced from their clandestine donations to the Church of Scientology.

Donors include Tom Cruise, Emily Armstrong, and John Travolta, representing the a broad range of celebrity involvement. Although these figures seldom address the public on their unique beliefs, their checkbooks serve as tell-alls: donations to tax-exempt philanthropic organizations are public domain making it easy to trace capital back to its origins.

But what is the church of Scientology? Although not much was known about Scientology a decade ago, activist and former member Leah Remini doxed the organization via her Emmy-nominated TV series “Scientology and the Aftermath.”

Leah spills the tea, sharing the juicy details of the most enigmatic and bizarre religion of our time.

Scientology was developed by author L. Ron Hubbard not for the purposes of self-idolatry, promoting his flopped book “Dianetics,” or avoiding taxes, but to bring the community together. Purportedly, scientologists believe that humans indefinitely reincarnate, that they are an amalgamation of many lives, and that their traumas are deeply rooted in these past lives. To break free from the bonds of trauma, one must be “audited” by members of the church, study Scientology, give freely and generously to the church, and accede to higher ranks to therein unearth the secrets of the universe. Scientologists believe that an alien named Xenu ruled the earth 70 million years ago and enacted a genocide upon its extra terrestrial people with thermonuclear weapons. Scientologists believe that children are actually ancient beings, trapped in mundane bodies, and that they’re closer to some form of spirituality than adults. All of it: fascinating.

Joining the surreptitious cohort of supporters are a handful of EDM DJs. Sullivan King, whose family has reportedly made multiple hundred-thousand-dollar donations to the church, has remained silent regarding mounting Scientology allegations. Although Sullivan King has never directly addressed rumors, he’s also yet to denounce them. Skrillex allegedly has ties to Scientology, although he has verbatim denied the accusations. Whether Skrillex has denied the rumors because they’re untrue or because the affiliation could damage his career has yet to be determined.

Heralding from sunny South Florida, I am a proud Florida Woman. In my free time, I surf the swamp, wrangle gators, open fan mail, and tend to my pets. In the wild, I'm most often spotted at immersive art spaces, step tappin' in a shadowed corner of the club, hater blockerz on, totally incognito as your resident EDM spice girl. Although I generally tout my spicy side, if there's one thing I'd love to impress upon the world, it would be this: it's not a waste to give love to those who do not deserve it – it's a gift. The world would be a better place if we gave, in kindness and in mercy, to those who need it most with no expectation in return.
