Massive Attack drops out of iii Points performance due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’

III Points Music Festival announces Headliner Massive Attack has “regrettably” drops out just one week before the event.

Massive Attack takes to social media to announce they’re unable to make their upcoming headlining performance at Miami’s III Points Festival due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Following the news, the festival is now actively searching for new talent to fill the available slot. Attendees are currently on stand-by for updates.

The British trip-hop group has been in the mix since the 80’s and released their debut album, ‘Blue Lines’ in 1991. Their single “Unfinished Sympathy” topped the Dutch Top 40 charts and later was voted 63rd-greatest song of all time in a poll by New Musical Express. It wasn’t long after until they released their second studio album ‘Protection’ which debuted at #4 in the UK.

This collective has also received numerous recognitions since releasing their third studio album ‘Mezzanine’ in 1998 and 2003’s ‘100th Window’. Their single ‘Teardrop’ off the former became the opening theme song for the American TV show ‘House’. Both bodies of works made it on Rolling Stone’s top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. With their on-going success, it is a heartfelt moment to hear of the recent drop out of one of Miami’s most popular Music Festivals.

First launched in 2013, Miami has made a collective effort to bring the underground dance music and art to what’s now known as III Points Music Festival. The annual celebration brings artists from all over the world to collectively enjoy a 2-day weekend retreat in the Miami heat with a variety of genres. Popular artists like Fred Again and Wu-Tang Clan have headlined the event while also curating a space for upcoming performers.

With over 10 years of hosting this event, this function is now spread across multiple stages. This year, festivalgoers are anticipating the highly energetic techno queen Sara Landry, as well as catchy melodies from Disclosure and a special B2B performance from James Hype and Meduza. On the rise artists such as Elderbrook, Blond:ish and Layton Giordani will also make an appearance.

As the event approaches, those interested in attending can still purchase tickets. 1 and 2-Day passes are available as well as tiers for each package. A one-of-a-kind experience for those who don’t want to miss out on an epic weekend in Miami. Tickets are available for purchase directly on their website.
