Festival organizers explain that Hurricane Helene’s category severe impact has inflicted mass destruction to the music park. Furthermore, the music park is unsafe, including an inestimable number of fallen trees, no electricity, no water, and little cell service.

The festival organizers state that there is not enough time to repair the damage with only less than two weeks away from the festival. The top priority of Suwannee Roots Revival is the safety of festival attendees, artists and staff workers.

This is not the first, or the last festival to face cancellation due to severe weather. Multiple festivals, including Burning Man, Movement Detroit, and Texas Eclipse Festival had to make similar decisions while prioritizing the safety of everyone.

In March 2024, Ultra Music Festival enforced evacuation on day one due to lightning. Later in the year, even the Elements Music & Arts Festival received extreme winds and torrential downpours, thus delaying day one entry.

Yoooo, the homies call me Marz. I am a multidimensional Piscean Latina fairy from Miami-Dade County (no, not Florida). Electronic music has allowed me to appreciate the profound beauty that can be found in finding peace within the chaos. Artists such as Rezz, Skrillex, John Summit, Michael Bibi, and Amtrac blend the two seamlessly, creating a harmonious balance that resonates with me whenever I am on the dancefloor. When I am writing about electronic music, I feel this same balance of peace and chaos moving through me - starting in my hips, filling my heart, and radiating out from my soul. The power of music has brought me to this exact moment, and I only desire that you feel the warmth of the sun through my words.
