What happened between LSDream and TikToker Drew Gunby?

LSDream and Drew Gunby have taken to social media to share their sides regarding a conflict between the two.

On September 23, TikToker Drew Gunby had shared several Instagram stories about an unnamed bass artist making “false promises.” He alleged that the producer had played his mash-up at Lost Lands without compensation and did not connect him to agents like they said they would. Followers were quick to speculate that Gunby had been talking about LSDream, leading to the artist releasing a statement

In the almost 10-minute-long video, LSDream said that the two had been speaking. He also said that Gunby took the video down of his own volition. He explained that he had decided to comment on the situation due to an increased amount of messages to him, calling it “a misunderstanding – a miscommunication.”

Drew Gunby has amassed over 1.2 million followers on TikTok since he began uploading his remixes on the platform. LSDream explained that he informally mentored Gunby and advised him to create longer content to be made into full sets. According to the former, he said he did contact an agent to put in a good word.

Regarding Gunby accusing LSDream of using his mash-up “with no compensation or shoutout,” the artist said he had permission to remix and play it. He said, “I thought that playing out his song, remixing his song, putting it in all of my huge sets was an act of support.”

LSDream explained that there is a difference between what TikTok creators and producers do, which led to miscommunication. He finished by encouraging others to move on from the situation and said, “We’re all trying to figure it out. We’re all trying to do our best – however we can – and sometimes we have different truths that we want to express.”

Following his Instagram stories, Gunby shared that he is checking into a treatment center due to suicidal ideation. He promised that he would return once he is healthy. LSDream’s full statement on the situation with Drew Gunby can be found on his TikTok.
