TOKiMONSTA postpones album release and cancels tour amid family emergency
TOKiMONSTA has cancelled her upcoming fall tour and postponed the release date for sixth studio album, Eternal Reverie.
On September 23rd, American dance music producer and DJ, TOKiMONSTA, announces personal and professional changes in her life. Thus, causing the artist to pause her music career.
Ultimately, TOKiMONSTA states her postponement is due to “an extremely personal matter”. TOKiMONSTA explains that she knows in her heart that she will not be able to give fans the performance or energy that they deserve.
Moreover, the artist explains that she is safe and healthy. However, Toki states that she needs to direct all her energy towards being there for a family member in need of direct support.
TOKiMONSTA had scheduled to release her seventh album, Eternal Reverie on November 22nd. The producer plans to release the album with her label, Young Art Records. On top of that, the twenty-eight-date tour would have started on September 28th at San Diego’s CRSSD festival.
The label boss expresses her gratitude towards fans she knows will hold space during this challenging time. Moreover, Toki describes the family emergency as more emotionally taxing.
Toki explains this moment has been more difficult than anything she has faced before. Specifically, the artist compares that the situation has even been more emotionally taxing than her brain surgery for Moyamoya, a rare disease caused by blocked arteries at the base of the brain. When Jennifer Lee underwent her brain surgery in January 2016, she had to relearn how to walk and make music.
She ends the statement by asking for empathy, privacy, and space. Moreover, she sends out a message hoping she will come out of this sensitive situation stronger and ready to connect with fans.
There is no news regarding a new release date for Eternal Reverie will come out.
