Adventure Club expels Ignyte Events from Detroit show after sexual assault allegations against DJ Attak

Adventure Club refuses to work with Ignyte Events following sexual assault allegations against the event company’s former president, DJ Attak.

Earlier this week, Chad Smith, also known as DJ Attak, resigned from his role as the president of Ignyte Events after domestic violence allegations made by his girlfriend Heather Nemat. Following this shocking news, numerous DJs in the dance music scene have decided to part ways from performing at any gigs run by the Mighican-based event company, including Adventure Club who turned to Instagram to speak on this matter.

Adventure Club was scheduled to perform in Detroit for Bass Country’s 7th anniversary on Saturday, August 3rd – an event originally promoted heavily by Ignyte Events. As soon as the news regarding DJ Attak’s allegations went public, the duo decided it was in their best interest to only follow through with the event if it was run by a different promotion company not managed by someone who was accused of such an appalling crime.

In their Tweet, Adventure Club stands firm on their decision to only proceed to work with another event promotion company whose employees share the same morals and values. They state that they “refuse to work with abusers and will no longer be working with the promoters Ignyte Events.” They also announced that their team had worked closely with the venue Section Live to “circumvent any involvement related to Ignyte” and that all proceeds from ticket sales would be donated to Heather’s healing journey.

Section Live also immediately turned to social media to share their sentiments on the matter. Their statement reads, “Due to recent events, Bass Country is no longer affiliated with outside promoters Ignyte Events/Chad Smith, Death2Reggies. Attak and Bongo have been removed from Saturday’s lineup. Please stay tuned for additional info.” Adventure Club also made sure to share the venue’s statement on their socials as well.

Several other EDM artists have also completely withdrawn from collaborating with Ignyte Events. With shows scheduled throughout Michigan around the time the news surrounding DJ Attak emerged, DJs like Ray Volpe, Svdden Death, and Eptic decided not to affiliate their name with Ignyte Events in any way. Some artists have even expressed that they’re devasted to admit that this isn’t the first time they’ve had to put their shows on halt due to an event of this caliber related to sexual assault.

Through all of this, Adventure Club has demonstrated their authenticity and value-driven motives as artists. They did what needed to be done by completely expelling Ignyte Events from a renowned headlining event like Bass Country, and they did it quickly and effectively. The duo and various like-minded artists wish Heather Nemat a speedy recovery following this awful news.
