Tape B Releases New Music on ‘Vibe Check Vol. 2.’
The Current King Midas of DUbstep, Tape B, has done it again releasing 7 new songs on ‘Vibe Check Vol. 2.‘
Tape B was one of Exron Music’s artists to watch last year and the producer continues to shock and awe with new music. Tape B (Berk Alkana) is dubstep’s current King Midas, everything he touches is turning to gold. On his 7-track new mixtape, ‘Vibe Check Vol. 2,’ he has created magic again with 7 new flips of iconic songs.
As a curator of nostalgia, Tape B easily flips songs that radiate radio memories past and transform them into heaters. They are gasoline and Tape B is the lighter. Tape B expands from his normal sound in this mix with a few slower tracks and a DNB master tune.
Starting the mixtape the listener is introduced to a fresh take on “No Type” by Rae Sremmurd a 2014 classic. Mixed with his track “Dopamine,” it transforms the track into a headbanging anthem. Second up is the highly awaited flip to “Counting” by Hamdi. Tape B’s influence is heavy on this track, the deep basslines and gnarly wubs breathe new life into one of the top tracks in 2023.
Tape B is most masterful in his flips of hip-hop/rap songs, on the third song of the album he shows why this is his bread and butter. A highly anticipated festival and show staple for Berk is his remix with IDHS to “Hands on the Wheel” by Schoolboy Q. The bass is rhythmic creating a surefire massive hit off of ‘Vibe Check Vol. 2.’
A slowed-down and mesmerizing flip of “Bangarang” by Skrillex is next; his take on the ID is the opposite of the original tune while maintaining the track’s legacy. Rather than the high energy “Bangarang” known for, Tape B’s version is melodic and a perfect fit for any comedown playlist. Tape B tackles “No Scrubs” by TLC next, the track is cheerful and happy, yet is not lacking his signature sound; bubbly wubs.
Not even Natasha Beddingfield is safe from this mastermind, taking her canonical track “Pocket Full of Sunshine” and refreshing in the stylings of a bass-house track. Here we see Tape B start to experiment and it is welcome. Wrapping up ‘Vibe Check Vol. 2’ is “I’m in Luv (With A Stripper) by T. Pain. Starting smooth, slow, and vocal-heavy, the drop ricochets the listener into a nasty DNB beat.
Tape B keeps getting better, every release somehow blows the last one out of the water. Exron Music is beyond excited to continue to listen to and watch his journey and career in music. Yo Tape B, show them how it’s done!
