Zeds Dead Collabs with Moody Good and Killa P on ‘Mad Ting’
Zeds Dead has the track of the summer in the bag after throwing heat this summer by releasing their latest Hit ‘Mad Ting.’
Zeds Dead baby, Zeds Dead. Zeds Dead released their newest single, “Mad Ting,” on July 3rd ahead of their Denver, Colorado takeover at Dead Rocks, DeadBeats Backyard Jamboree, and their headline show at the Mission Ballroom.
Every Fourth of July, Zeds Deads returns to Bass Capital USA (aka Denver, Colorado) for nearly a weeklong takeover from the duo of Hooks and DC, including many of the DeadBeats signed artists. Their new track takes a lot of influence from UK rap, also found in Peekaboo’s highly popular “Badders” track. Needless to say ‘Mad Ting’ is madness and creative genius yet again for the forefathers of bass music.
Featured on the track is Killa P, who has a tone similar to Flowdan who has been paving the way for their new era of bass music that features UK-based rappers. Hailing from South London, Killa P is also cousins with Flowdan, so it is clear that talent runs in the family. His vocals add a heady dimension to the new track.
Zeds Dead played out “Mad Ting” for their first time at Red Rocks on July 3rd, the date of release. Also on the track is Moody Good, a dubstep and experimental bass producer hailing from London, currently based in Chicago. The track takes elements of classic Zeds Dead, mixed with the stylings of London grime and garage. From start to finish, this new release is a masterclass in Zeds Deads’ ability to evolve their sound and stylings while remaining true to their roots.
The track is upbeat yet deeply wubby with sharp basslines and grimey beats. Zeds Dead remains on top of their game after 15 years in the scene. Recently they released “Out For Blood,” which had been exclusively on YouTube for the last 13 years. Their first track “Journey Of A Lifetime” was released in 2009, featuring their namesake in the opening minutes. One lyric in the track remains iconic for the duo, “It was the journey of a lifetime,” as DC and Hooks have continued to pioneer bass and dubstep across the globe. This track is GAS.
