Martin Garrix hosts DJ class for children with cancer in The Netherlands

Martin Garrix has become an ambassador for the Prinses Máxima and celebrated by hosting a DJ class for children with cancer.

Martin Garrix and Prinses Máxima have partnered with a mission to make treatment for childhood cancer more accessible worldwide. After he had been named an ambassador for the hospital, he made his way to the center. He had shown them and their families what he does daily and was captured smiling in every interaction.

In a video shared by the organization, Garrix had been shown teaching children how to DJ. Each kid had received their moment to shine behind the decks while the audience clapped and danced. At the end, everyone had gathered to take a picture with the artist.

Of the partnership, Martin Garrix said, “I know that worldwide there are still many children dying from childhood cancer. That’s why I want to help with the mission of the Máxima: to cure every child with cancer, with optimum quality of life.”

Prinses Máxima is one of the largest pediatric cancer centers in Garrix’s home country of the Netherlands. The hospital strives to maintain children’s quality of life while giving them care. It is also committed to furthering research for cancer cures in collaboration with hospitals around the world.

The producer has been participating in philanthropy since the early part of his career. In 2016, he headlined an event for F**k Cancer in Los Angeles and held a charity show in Mumbai to support children’s educations. He became an International Friend of SOS Children’s Village in 2017 and raised €270,000 for War Child Holland Charity during a performance in the Netherlands in 2019.

While spreading awareness about causes he believes in, Garrix is also an internationally-known house music DJ. A few days after holding the DJ class for Prinses Máxima, he played EDC Las Vegas. The artist uses his influence to contribute to important causes and his ambassadorship with the hospital is another step toward evolved cancer treatment.
