Laidback Luke to Release Collab with Son Marlon in Celebration of his 21st Birthday

Laidback Luke has revealed a special collaboration with son Marlon in commemoration of his 21st birthday.

In celebration of his son Marlon’s 21st birthday, Laidback Luke is set to release a song with his firstborn in a couple of months. This will be the first time the father and son will publicly release music that they have produced together.

Marlon van Scheppingen is not only the son of legendary DJ and producer Laidback Luke but is also an up-and-coming producer. He has produced electronic dance music under the name Marlonbeats for the last three years with his first single ‘Set Me Free’ released in April 2022.

Marlon has been actively producing dance music since a young age and Laidback Luke has confirmed that he “enjoys DJing as well.” In a post dedicated to Marlon’s birthday, Laidback Luke reminisces about his son’s adolescent growth and how they used to, “cuddle until his beard hairs start poking me.” He reflects on watching Marlon blossom into an adult with ease and in the blink of an eye.

This milestone represents another step up in Marlon’s producing career, with the upcoming collab with his father set to release in a few months. Though not much more information has been revealed about the track, we can expect it to be a blend of the two generations’ sound.

Marlonbeats has already had a busy release schedule with three singles “DALE,” “Dance Away The Pain,” and “Another Day,” which have all come out in 2024. It is safe to say that he is not slowing down and is committed to producing electronic music.

The two have given fans a sneak peek preview of the collaboration track at the end of Laidback Luke’s post. For more updates on when the track is set to be released, make sure to check out Marlonbeats on Spotify today.

My favorite thing in the whole world is music and after hearing "One" by Swedish House Mafia for the first time in 2014, I was hooked on EDM. Dance music has been a large part of who I am and will always be searching for new ways to incorporate it in my life. The pure bliss that I feel from live shows is a feeling I never want to stop chasing (iykyk). Some of my favorite artists are Flume, Rüfüs Du Sol, Mindchatter, Disclosure, Dom Dolla and Fred Again.. :)
