Follow Kander on His Meteoric Ascent in the Hard Techno World

Manchester-bred DJ/producer Kander is leaving no stone unturned on his journey to bring hard techno to the forefront.

Hailing from the vibrant musical hub of Manchester, Kander is a burgeoning force in the hard techno scene.  Born with creative fervor, Kander has made waves with his musically diverse and vivacious techno sets. With a growing list of top venues under his belt, it’s only a matter of time before Kander takes his talents stateside.

Originally a duo project with his colleague Kane, Kander debuted in 2021 with a four-track EP ‘RKR1’ under the esteemed R-Label Group. Soon thereafter, the duo performed at The Warehouse Project alongside industry titans such as Amelie Lens and Charlotte de Witte. Despite parting ways amicably in April 2022, Alex ultimately decided to shoulder the mantle of Kander solo.

Since the split the project has undoubtedly continued to flourish, with tracks like “Jungle VIP” and his vinyl/digital project ‘R002’ solidifying his true potential.  Alex’s prowess behind the decks is indisputable, quickly landing performances at prominent events like TeleTech Festival’s Boiler Room stage and Parklife Festival. Notably, TeleTech marked a significant milestone as his solo debut, face-to-face with visionaries like KlangKuenstler and Airod.

Boiler Room stages seem to be a natural habitat for Kander, with Alex gracing the decks twice at TeleTech Festival, unquestionably the highlight of his career thus far. In his own words, “playing to a home crowd is always so special, but being in the middle of it all is something else.”  Kander’s inimitable energy and faultless transitions left audiences spellbound, only reaffirming his status as a force in the techno realm.

Gracing prominent clubs like Now&Wow, Club Basis, and Raw Factory, Kander remains rife with possibilities as he traverses the globe.  Tracks like “Separate & Divide” and “Born To Fail” masterfully exemplify Kander’s signature booming techno, driving beats and hypnotic rhythms. Beyond solo endeavors, Alex has also worked with Faster Horses to form Korse, unleashing the scintillating single “Hatin’ On Me.”

Kander’s recent appearances at Audio Obscura and Verknipt Festival undeniably place Kander at the forefront of the techno renaissance.  As he continues his meteoric rise, the Exron team hopes Kander honors the U.S. techno scene with his presence expeditiously. In the meantime, make sure to check out Kander’s performance at Verknipt below for a front-row seat!

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
