Coachella ‘Billing Issues’ Delaying Festival Lineup Drops Nationwide Due to Strict Radius Clause

West-coast festival giant Coachella raises eyebrows as alleged billing issues may be causing delays for other festival lineup releases.

Although unconfirmed, Coachella is reportedly experiencing billing issues connected to the region’s strict radius clause, which is affecting lineup announcements nationwide.  Coachella will continue its 20+ year streak in Indio, California, on April 12-14 and April 19-21, 2024.  Speculation around headliners has already begun to circulate, with names such as Lana Del Rey, Tyler the Creator, and Doja Cat floating around.  However, despite public unrest on social media continues to grow with no lineup confirmation three months out from the festival.

The prominent media outlet Festive Owl brought attention to the issue on Twitter, stating that Coachella’s problems were causing frustration and delays in the event industry.  One festival directly affected by these challenges is Florida’s Resonate Suwannee. Scheduled for April 4 – 6, the festival has taken to social media to explain its own lineup delays. 

According to Resonate Suwannee‘s 2024 lineup poster, a top-tier artist awaited release on January 8.  However, the festival was unable to honor such announcement, citing complications caused by “a certain festival in California.” While not directly named, the post left little doubt that Coachella was the festival in question.

Interestingly, Resonate Suwannee’s initial lineup announcement took place in December 2023, well ahead of Coachella’s usual schedule. The festival’s 2024 poster indicates that it plans to announce another artist addition on January 29, further emphasizing the potential challenges in adjusting schedules due to Coachella’s speculated delays.
