Inside the Unique Artist-Hosted Activities That Take Place on Groove Cruise

Groove Cruise 2024 has unveiled a myriad of eclectic artist-hosted activities and charitable opportunities onboard.

Whet Travel’s flagship event, Groove Cruise is gearing up to celebrate two decades of nautical beats and memories aboard the Norwegian Encore. The 2024 edition promises to be a milestone event, sailing from Miami to the private oasis of Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Groove Cruise has not only shelled out on the largest most luxurious vessel to date, but also a plethora of artist-hosted activities during their stay.

For example, fans can look forward to (among other things) a Hot Ones challenge, a Super Smash Bros tournament, and whiskey, tequila, and wine tastings. Fans looking for interactive activities can play Mario Kart with VNSSA and Lilly Palmer or do yoga with LP Giobbi. In addition, artists such as Markus Schulz and Gabriel & Dresden will host dinners at different restaurants onboard.

Groove Cruise is not just about the beats – it’s a holistic experience. The weekend programming includes 11 stages with world-class production, daily themed parties, and 50+ artist-hosted activities. These include everything from mental health panels to DJ/producer workshops, to volunteer opportunities with the Whet Foundation.

Started by Groove Cruise’s founder Jason Beukema, the Whet Foundation focuses on giving back to the communities it visits. Through initiatives like Destination Donation, volunteers onboard Groove Cruise help enhance the education of students at RN Gomez Comprehensive School and help rebuild Great Harbour’s Revival Time Highway Church of God.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
