Just four months after its release, Peggy Gou’s hit song “(It Goes Like) Nanana” has gone platinum! And it’s certainly no surprise, as the happy-go-lucky track has captivated audiences everywhere from festivals worldwide to TikTok fanatics. Citing 90’s nostalgia as her inspiration behind the hit, the upbeat melody and warm-hearted lyrics immediately resonated with the public.

Since its release, The South Korean producer has played her hit song across major venues, building up unbelievable anticipation for the song of the summer.  Furthermore, Peggy Gou’s hit song went viral after a festival video of her set circled the internet. Peggy Gou took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing “Platinum bb 🥹 Just one of many reasons why this is my fav place to play.” Fans and artists alike flooded the comments, with prominent imprints such as Circoloco sharing their congratulations. If the 100,000+ serve as any indicator, the support for her recent accomplishment has undoubtedly been abundant.

Peggy Gou’s musical journey began in the early 2010s when she started DJing at various clubs and events in Europe, gaining recognition for her eclectic mix of house, techno, and disco. In 2016, she released her first EP ‘The Art of War’, which received critical acclaim and marked the beginning of her meteoric rise. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with “It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)”, a track sung in her native language that combined electronic elements with her Korean heritage.

While this platinum award is quite an accomplishment, there is clearly no end in sight for Peggy Gou’s triumphs. For starters, Gou just closed out Amsterdam Dance Event with a sold-out show called “Gou Talk”. Moreover, Gou has just announced that she will be playing her first Ultra Miami in March 2024.

Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what else is in store from Peggy Gou in the months ahead. For more information on Peggy Gou, click here.

Having grown up just an earshot from Ultra Miami's venue Bayfront Park, it was next to impossible for me not to fall in love with electronic music. My love for music was evidently strong enough for me to write my college essay on festival culture and continue attending Ultra for 10+ years now. I have always had a knack for writing and the power of words, which I continued cultivating through a Philosophy degree in college. Now a law school graduate, I eventually hope to merge my passions by working in music law. I am an avid traveler and am certainly not afraid to hop on a plane for a music event. My next bucket list festivals to attend are Tomorrowland in Belgium and Sonus in Croatia. Though the list could go on forever, some of my favorite artists include Franky Wah, Mochakk, Kevin de Vries, and Eli Brown.
