Deep Dub Visionaries Slang Dogs Share Tantalizing ‘Vitriol’ EP on Street Ritual
Rising DJ and production duo Slang Dogs have shared what’s perhaps the biggest release of their budding career.
The praised duo recently dropped their debut EP, ‘Vitriol’ on Street Ritual, a highly-respected label in the bass music space. The label is the proud home of many other fan favorites, including Detox Unit, ATTYA, and CharlestheFirst.
Now, Slang Dogs joins the Street Ritual release roster with ‘Vitriol’, a two-track EP that is full-bodied, jarring, and an extremely diverse showcase of rhythms and sounds. Through this latest offering, the duo hopes to demonstrate their diverse production style and capabilities.
“Vitriol is a project that represents how dark we could take 140,” Slang Dogs noted. “Because we make so many different styles of music, we typically have some variation on the genre that we make. The result is Vitriol, an extremely dark and ominous form of 140 that screams Slang Dogs.”
Demonstrated by the immediate outpouring of support from fans on streaming platforms like SoundCloud and Spotify, Slang Dogs has succeeded in embodying that vision. The first track, “Turn Em” leads in with a foreboding melody and a subdued, eerie vocal piece. A teasing riff soon evolves into a soul-shattering drop that both energies and stuns you…listeners beware.
In a similar yet fresh approach, the EP’s second track, “Ill Intent” slowly crawls inside of you, before unleashing a paralyzing bassline. Still, Slang Dogs included the perfect amount of wobble and bounce to make it a great fit for any stage. And that’s just what this EP is–a collection of sounds that every bass DJ should have in their repertoire to command a crowd.
Speaking of crowds, the duo is also coming off of their widely successful Lost Lands debut, in which they drew a massive crowd of new and old fans alike.
On the new EP, Slang Dogs adds, “The deep sub, atmospheric environments and rhythms that make up standard 140 has always been a huge inspiration to us. The Vitriol EP is our take on this style and we are proud that tastemakers such as Street Ritual gave it a good home.”
Below, indulge in Slang Dogs’ ‘Vitriol’ EP out now via Street Ritual, and catch the duo on Ravenscoon’s tour this fall!
