Wreckno Slams Social Media Trolls for Hateful Comments on His Appearance and Identity
Genre-bending DJ and producer Wreckno, real name Brandon Wisniski opens up to fans about his negative experience on social media.
Earlier this week, Wreckno addressed concerns about how some people have been treating him on social media. He said, “Just being transparent. If you talk shit about me publicly & fav/RT things that are negative towards me, I’m blocking you. I don’t owe the people that are set on disliking me any more of my time than I’ve already given them in the last 3 years. I am nowhere near a perfect person, and I know that.”
In the same post, Wreckno continued, “I get hateful comments damn near every day on all different platforms. Whether it be about my gender identity, weight & appearance, sexuality, whether I should be allowed to have a career, or who I am as a human. Just because we all live on the same internet doesn’t mean we have to allow the negativity in our spaces. With luv, B. [heart hands emoji].”
For a long time, Wreckno has been open with followers and fans about his sexuality. He is especially known for clapping back at haters and always staying true to their authentic self. Back in May, he replied to someone who had negative things to say about him. Wreckno’s reply? “My queer existence isn’t here to please the general public? Worry about yourself.”
Wreckno continues to be unapologetically himself online and everywhere. In 2022, he shared personal details regarding his gender identity. He tweeted, “Not sure I ever made this clear but as a gender-fluid person I am comfortable with all pronouns. He/they/she. I don’t care what you call me as long as you call me [double pink heart emoji][kiss emoji].”
In addition to keeping the haters at a safe distance, the artist has been working hard in the studio. He recently released a highly-anticipated track alongside fellow dubstep producer Buku called, “Replay.” In the song, Wreckno offers his production expertise in addition to his catchy vocal segment. Wreckno often sings and raps in his own songs and lends his vocals as features on other artists’ tracks.
Wreckno is currently on tour across the US. His next big performance will take place at Moonrise Festival this weekend. Listen to “Replay” by Wreckno and Buku below:
