KC Lights & Lapsley Release “Better Times” Collab After Hitting BBC Radio 1’s “Hottest Record In The World”

“Better Times,” an electronic song with disco influences and atmospheric vocals, has finally been released by KC Lights and Lapsley.

KC Lights and Lapsley are bringing their talents together for a fresh take on the art of funk and house. Before being released on Toolroom Records, the track was already supported by KISS, Capital Dance, and Apple’s DanceXL, setting it up to be one of the biggest songs of the summer.

BBC Radio 1 referred to “Better Times” as “the hottest record in the world,” immediately marking it a song set to cause waves in electronic music. The track blends groovy 70s-inspired sounds from disco while still making them appealable to a modern audience. Lapsley’s vocals on top of the funky beat make the song feel nostalgic and entrancing.

“I wanted a sound that felt warm and familiar but also new and exciting. Almost immediately, Lapsley & I knew that we had a creative connection. A few hours later, we had written the track. We just knew the nostalgic vibe and sound felt so right,” KC Lights said about the collaboration

“For me, “Better Times” is about letting go of anything weighing you down in life and looking ahead optimistically.  Looking ahead into summer, I think this song will be a big moment in my sets,” he continued. With the amount of attention that the house track has already garnered, there is no doubt that KC Lights and Lapsley have an amazing summer ahead of them.

KC Lights conbines bright house with deeper bass lines and dreamy, compelling vocals, making songs that are recognizable to him as an artist. “Better Times” continues this trend with a contagious beat and euphoric feel. His creativity shines in the new song with layers of bass and melodic touches.

With the drop of “Better Times,” KC Lights announced his summer tour, playing Belfast Belsonic with David Guetta and Meduza, as well as shows in Ibiza, Texas, California, and more.
