Ultra’s B2Bs Breakdown: The Ultimate Ultranaut Guide for 2023
Ultra’s B2Bs are literally bananas and we’re mere weeks away from bearing witness.
To the shock and dismay of absolutely no one, Ultra’s 2023 lineup is a big ‘ole slay! For EDM fanatics, the list promises a tantalizing panoply of unrelenting talent. From Martin Garrix, to Zedd, to Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia, Rezz, Eric Prydz Presents Holo, Carl Cox, Tale of Us, Claude VonStroke, Armin Van Buuren, Subtronics, Ganja White Night, and about a million mind-melting guests more – it’s safe to say that this lineup is fuego, buenísimo, chef’s kiss, amen!
And although each name down the list is eye-catching, the high volume of B2Bs comes across as a salient theme. All three days of Ultra showcase show-stopping B2Bs, featuring artists that sound interesting and dynamic when paired, as well as artists that regularly link. At the Main Stage on Sunday night, Oliver Heldens will play back-to-back with Tchami in a Dutch/French twist of fate. Heldens – whose music is club, up-tempo, and poppy – will bring a new flavor to Tchami’s whimsicality and quirky soulfulness.
Kx5, or the successful partnership between Kaskade and deadmau5, is yet another exciting standout of Ultra’s lineup. Kx5 is slotted to close the Live Stage on Sunday, performing directly after Gigantic NGHTMRE, yet another B2B between Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE. Although each artist embodies their own unique and distinct sound, the different frequencies somehow mesh. The Kx5 duo recently released the popular hit, “Escape (feat. Hayla),” and there’s more music in the works. Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE collaborated for a single, releasing their incredibly successful track, “Just Like That,” an oddly balanced blend of their respective sounds.
For all the house lovers in attendance, Maceo Plex and Michael Bibi are scheduled for a big rip on Friday night at Resistance (Megastructure). Maceo Plex, a local-favorite Cuban American DJ from none-other-than Miami, and Bibi, the cheeky UK GQ model/superstar, will be sure to dish intimate, club terrace vibes, despite the massive production of Ultra.
Some other noteworthy B2Bs include Dom Dolla and Vintage Culture on Saturday night at the Main Stage, as well as Armin van Buuren b2b Ferry Corsten and Jauz b2b Svdden Death at the Worldwide State Friday and Saturday night respectively.
