Mat Zo Mesmerized Miami During ‘This Is A Mad Zoo House Tour’

A small dark room nestled in the heart of Miami hosted a soulful journey taken by electronic music enthusiasts this past Friday night. The legendary Grammy-nominated DJ/producer, Mat Zo showcased his ‘This Is A Mad Zoo House Tour’ at Miami Beach’s Treehouse nightclub. This funky little venue had hanging foliage decorating the ceiling above, embodying the feel of a treehouse bungalow in the depths of a jungle.

Following the powerful tone set by local openers, Mat Zo’s electrifying voyage began at Treehouse around 2 AM. The ambiance was dim while colorful pulses of light danced through the dangling leaves above, creating a sense of intimacy among the crowd.

Mat Zo bounced up and down along with the beat, emanating his energy into his fans on the dance floor. He hypnotized the crowd with his deep house rhythm that seemed to synchronize with the small eruptions of light dancing across the room. He played many of his own celebrated tracks including a crowd favorite,‘Superman’, which really seemed to have the crowd indulging on a spiritual level. It was also refreshing to hear a variety of house and techno tracks by some of our other favorite artists throughout his set, which ended up extending to a total of three hours.

Since the commencement of Mat Zo’s tour, following the release of ‘This Is A Mad Zoo House EP’, the artist has made clear that he feels extremely passionate about returning electronic dance shows to the core values they were established on. He hopes to make a community wide impact, with this tour as his vessel.

If Mat Zo’s previous appearances were anything like his Miami show, it’s safe to say he’s executing his mission. His live performance spoke volumes of his commitment to growth in the electronic music community. The crowd’s positive feedback reflected off the great vibes Mat Zo brought to Miami on Friday, and we absolutely loved watching his passion ignite.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
