Watch Excision’s over-the-top gender reveal at Lost Lands

Excision has turned his gender reveal into an unforgettable Lost Lands moment with an explosive surprise during his Detox set.

Excision turned Lost Lands into one massive gender reveal during his Detox set, sharing some huge family news in the most Excision way possible. The superstar bass DJ brought his wife, Emma Livorno, onstage at Lost Lands’ Wompy Woods stage to reveal they are expecting a baby girl.

The moment started with a giant egg taking over the stage visuals as colors flashed between blue and pink. As the buildup reached its peak, the egg cracked open and the entire stage suddenly exploded in pink, revealing the couple’s second child will be a girl.

Of course, a normal gender reveal was never going to cut it at Lost Lands. Pink lights, smoke and fireworks blasted across Wompy Woods as thousands of headbangers celebrated alongside the couple before Excision jumped right back into the madness of his Detox set.

The wholesome surprise arrived during an already chaotic Lost Lands weekend at Legend Valley. The ninth edition of Excision’s dinosaur-filled festival ran September 18-20, once again bringing the bass community together in Thornville, Ohio.

This year, however, Mother Nature apparently wanted her own spot on the lineup. Severe storms and heavy rain turned parts of Lost Lands into a muddy mess, with festivalgoers temporarily evacuated from the grounds before being allowed back inside once conditions improved.

More rough weather eventually forced another evacuation late Sunday, cutting into the festival’s final hours, but not before Excision got to deliver one of the weekend’s most memorable moments. Between the monsoon-like conditions, dinosaurs, fireworks and a baby reveal, Lost Lands somehow found another way to get even crazier.

Hey everyone, I’m Neil! I first joined the dance community back in 2019 when my friend dragged me to Moonrise, my first-ever music festival, and I became hooked ever since. I like to dabble in most genres with my favorites being tech house and melodic techno. When it comes to studio output, Camelphat is part of my daily listening rotation and for a live performance, I’ll never miss a Solomun set. You can likely catch me on the dance floor somewhere in Brooklyn!
