RÜFÜS DU SOL’s latest tour sets record for highest-grossing in electronic music

RÜFÜS DU SOL have officially made electronic music history by grossing over $100 million on their Inhale/Exhale Tour.

RÜFÜS DU SOL have reached a new career high following the conclusion of their Inhale/Exhale World Tour. After 18 months on the road, the Australian trio has set a record for the highest-grossing electronic music tour in history. The massive run brought in $158 million and sold 1.7 million tickets, making it the first electronic tour to surpass $100 million in gross touring revenue.

The milestone follows a huge past few years for RÜFÜS DU SOL, who have continued to bring their atmospheric live show to bigger stages around the world. The Inhale/Exhale tour took the trio to major stadiums worldwide, including dates across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Australia. Major stops include Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Folsom Field.

In the process, RÜFÜS DU SOL became the first electronic act to ever clear $100 million and one million tickets on a single tour, setting a new benchmark for the genre’s live circuit. Fellow dance artist Odesza reached $56.3 million for their Last Goodbye Tour, which wrapped up in 2024. The tour ultimately came to a close on September 5 at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, where nearly 50,000 fans packed the stadium for the tour’s final show. It was a fitting end to a run that saw RÜFÜS DU SOL move well beyond the typical scale of an electronic headline tour, a genre where stadium tours are still mostly uncharted territory.

The achievement is particularly striking considering where the trio started. A decade ago, RÜFÜS DU SOL were playing small clubs while building a following around their emotional blend of electronic production, live instrumentation, and songwriting. That same foundation has remained at the heart of their shows even as the crowds have grown exponentially, from small venues to festivals to now selling out massive arenas around the globe.
