From EDC to Tomorrowland: How to turn your Thailand festival trip into a vacation
EDC, Tomorrowland and Thailand are the perfect recipe for turning a festival trip into a fully packed vacation.
If your idea of a vacation involves dancing until sunrise, December 2026 might be the month to book a flight to Thailand. Tomorrowland Thailand is taking over Pattaya from Dec. 11-13, followed by EDC Thailand in Phuket from Dec. 18-20, giving electronic music fans a rare chance to turn two major festival weekends into one long Thailand getaway.
Rather than flying across the world for one weekend and immediately heading home, music fans can build an itinerary around both events and use the week between them to actually experience the country. From beach days and resort stays to exploring Thailand’s food, nightlife and culture, the days between sets can feel like a vacation in their own right.
Start with Tomorrowland Thailand
Tomorrowland Thailand will make its first full-scale Asian debut at Wisdom Valley in Pattaya, bringing the festival’s signature stages, including Mainstage, CORE and Freedom, to Thailand. The three-day event runs Dec. 11-13, making it the natural starting point for a December festival vacation.
Pattaya also gives travelers plenty to do once the music winds down. Spend a few days exploring the city’s beaches, restaurants and nightlife before making your way south toward Phuket.
Use the week between festivals wisely
The best part of this itinerary is the seven-day gap between Tomorrowland and EDC. Instead of spending the entire week waiting for the next festival, use it as the vacation portion of the trip. You could make a stop in Bangkok for restaurants, shopping and nightlife, spend a few days at a beach resort or explore another Thai destination before continuing to Phuket.
End with EDC Thailand
EDC Thailand returns to Phuket Dec. 18-20, giving travelers a second massive weekend of electronic music before heading home. By the time the final set ends, you won’t just have checked two festivals off your list. You’ll have spent nearly two weeks experiencing Thailand, with luxury hotels, beaches, food and sightseeing filling in the spaces between the lasers and late-night sets.
