Deadmau5 joins Independent Artist Group to expand his creative ventures beyond music

Independent Artist Group has partnered with Deadmau5 to bring his creative world into gaming, technology, film, digital content, and more.

Deadmau5 has never been the type of artist to stick to just making music, and now he’s taking that even further. The electronic music legend has officially joined Independent Artist Group (IAG), with the new partnership looking to grow his projects across music, gaming, film, television, technology, and digital content.

For anyone who has followed Deadmau5 over the years, the move makes plenty of sense. Joel Zimmerman has always been obsessed with the tech side of creativity, whether he’s designing massive live productions, experimenting with software, streaming online, building games, or finding completely new ways to connect with fans.

One project getting another life is Coffee Run, his fan-favorite series where he drives around grabbing coffee and casually talking with different guests. Past episodes have featured names like Skrillex, Zedd, Pharrell Williams, Dillon Francis, and Tommy Lee, with the series now set for a comeback.

There’s plenty more happening outside of Coffee Run too. IAG will look for new opportunities surrounding Oberhasli Games, Deadmau5’s video game company, along with Auto/Pilot, his software platform built around live mixing, sampling, sequencing, and performance.

Of course, none of this means Deadmau5 is slowing down on the music side. His 2026 track “Science” with Stevie Appleton hit No. 1 at U.S. Dance Radio, while he continues performing as Deadmau5 and TESTPILOT alongside projects like Kx5 with Kaskade.

Basically, Deadmau5 is building something much bigger than a typical DJ career. With IAG now helping bring those ideas to life, fans could start seeing the mau5 universe pop up in a lot more places than festival stages.

Hey everyone, I'm Neil! I first joined the dance community back in 2019 when my friend dragged me to Moonrise, my first-ever music festival, and I became hooked ever since. I like to dabble in most genres with my favorites being tech house and melodic techno. When it comes to studio output, Camelphat is part of my daily listening rotation and for a live performance, I'll never miss a Solomun set. You can likely catch me on the dance floor somewhere in Brooklyn!
