Reza brings sultry deep tech to Zealous Records with ‘Slow Down’ EP
Reza is bringing a darker, more seductive side of house music to Zealous Records with his latest three track release, Slow Down.
The Los Angeles producer keeps things stripped back across the EP, letting percussion and provocative vocal moments carry the energy. Released through the Nottingham label, Zealous Records, Slow Down feels designed for the point in a night when the dancefloor has fully settled into its groove. Each one leaves enough space for the rhythm to breathe while building a kind of tension that keeps people moving.
The EP opens with “Slow Down,” a track that immediately settles into a hypnotic groove. The percussion stays busy around a thick bassline while the vocal gives the production a darker edge.
Things get a little spicy with the next track “Muito Gata”. Portuguese vocals taking listeners on a sexy trip over driving basslines. It’s the kind of track that can change the mood of a room without completely changing its pace.
Then comes “Sound Pressure,” which brings the most attitude of the three. Reza closes out the EP with a classic club vibe, ending on an energetic note. It’s one of those songs that can revive a crowd and bring a little extra life to the dancefloor.
Across Slow Down, Reza keeps his production focused on groove rather than excess. The three tracks share a similar foundation but each approaches the dancefloor from a slightly different angle, moving between sultry, playful and more forceful moments.
“With thoughts of fairytale love, the track aims to triumph the dreamt love into reality. The title track categorises the rest of the vibe on the EP – that deep, minimal, almost sensual tone across all three.” – Reza
Beyond the release, Reza has quickly become a favorite for some of the biggest shows in his region, earning spots with party throwers including Insomniac Events, Factory 93, Daytrip and Framework. For Zealous Records, the release continues the label’s growing relationship with emerging artists as it sets its sights on new horizons in the US. With Slow Down, Reza makes a strong addition to the label, bringing his late-night sound to a new audience.
