James Hype and Tita Lau postpone wedding until 2027

James Hype and Tita Lau eagerly look ahead to a 2027 wedding celebration after an emotional year for the couple

James Hype and Tita Lau have postponed their wedding until 2027. The couple were set to get married this week, but after a year filled with personal challenges and demanding touring schedules, they have decided to give themselves more time before celebrating their marriage.

Hype shared the news on Instagram, posting a series of photos with Lau to mark what would have been their wedding day. He also teased that Tita had already “leaked” the new date, telling fans that the wait will be worth it. The DJ previously revealed the date live on Tomorrowland One World Radio while backstage at the festival.

The couple have been open about the challenges they have faced over the past year. In June, the couple shared that they had experienced a miscarriage after spending two years trying to conceive and preparing to begin IVF. Their careers have also kept them constantly on the move, with both DJs spending much of their time touring and performing around the world. It has been a lot for the couple to navigate together.

Their social media is filled with travel memories, behind-the-scenes moments, and plenty of affection for one another. Even through the harder parts of the last year, they have never shied away from showing how much they mean to each other.

That makes the decision to wait until 2027 all the more meaningful. Rather than rushing into a wedding, the couple are choosing to celebrate when the timing feels right for both of them. Hype’s post was more about the person he was supposed to marry, calling Lau his “number 1 human” and reflecting on the memories they have made together.

For now, the two will continue balancing their relationship with their busy careers. Hype has upcoming performances in Brazil, the US and Europe, while Lau is set to play dates in Ibiza and New York. The wedding can wait. After everything they have been through together, 2027 will give James Hype and Tita Lau another reason to celebrate.

My name is Alejandra Benitez and I was born and raised in the DMV. Having close proximity to Washington D.C. means I am accustomed to a fast paced environment as things are constantly changing. For me, the EDM scene has provided so much comfort and space to really find myself even amongst chaos. My first ever show was Zeds Dead and it truly changed my outlook on community and further affirmed my love for music. I am a basshead at heart but enjoy exploring new genres and artists. Being a writer for Exron has given me an amazing opportunity to learn more about the electronic music industry and I love being able to express myself creatively. Some of my favorite artists include Levity, Rezz, Tape B, Disco Lines, and Sub Focus.
