The Magic of Tomorrowland unveils 2026 Shanghai lineup with Tiësto, Axwell and More
Magic of Tomorrowland in Shanghai Returns in 2026 With a Two-Day Electronic Music Festival Featuring Tiësto, Axwell, Alison Wonderland, Artbat, Lost Frequencies, and Top Regional Talent.
The wait is over. The lineup for the second year of The Magic of Tomorrowland in Shanghai, China, has finally been revealed. Hosted at the Hero Dome in downtown Shanghai’s Huangpu District along the Huangpu Riverside waterfront on Oct. 17-18, 2026, the new location added to the well-known Tomorrowland festival is sure to live up to its 2025 debut. With two days and two unique lineups following an extraordinary first edition, The Magic of Tomorrowland is the official indoor experience of Tomorrowland. Hosted jointly by INS Land and Hero Esports, the event unfolds as a celebration of music, culture, and community.
When Tomorrowland announced its expansion into Asia, many attendees of the original festival wondered whether it would live up to its Belgian counterpart. How would the festival operate on this side of the globe, and would it be successful? Last year’s festival received mixed feedback, with some saying that the stage design, maximalist atmosphere, and sound quality were on brand with the original festival, while others said there were missed opportunities, including limited Chinese and, more broadly, Asian talent. Meguru’s B2B with Amber Broos was a highlight of last year’s festival, illustrating just how impactful having that local representation can be.
Within a broader context, the festival’s expansion to China can be seen as a pivotal moment for festival culture, with many events disappearing over the years in the region—including EDC China and Yin Yang Music Festival—due to poor ticket sales, unforeseen circumstances, and permitting issues. Overall, the success of last year’s event proves that China’s festival ecosystem is craving events that follow through with the execution and production quality of the original festival while adding native DJs.
Oct. 17: Day one will feature Axwell, Bhaskar, Carly Wilford, Cassian B2B Kevin De Vries, Lost Frequencies, MC Stretch, Morten, and Nosi, alongside local talent like DJ Sally, who is best known for her presence in Shanghai’s club and tech-house scene, as well as Hauzer and Linska.
Oct. 18: Day two’s lineup includes Alison Wonderland, Artbat B2B R3hab, Joel Corry, Miss Monique, Nosi, and Tiësto, with Bhaskar, Carly Wilford and MC Stretch returning for night two. Local talent includes Mansun Lui and Evin King.

Overall, this year’s Magic of Tomorrowland has the opportunity to top the festival’s debut edition if it maintains the extravagant stages and atmosphere while remaining mindful of the inclusion of regional talent.
