Evan Giia cancels tour dates due to ‘health complications’ after giving birth

Evan Giia is taking time to heal, focus on motherhood, and write new music as she navigates this major new chapter in her life.

American singer Evan Giia has announced that she is cancelling dates from her upcoming Pretty Bangers Tour after experiencing health complications following the birth of her baby in March. In an emotional Instagram post, the singer-songwriter apologized to fans for having to cancel the shows, explaining that her health issues have worsened since giving birth. Giia said the decision was particularly difficult because she has “never cancelled a single show” throughout her career.

“To every one of you that bought a ticket – thank you for keeping my spirit alive during this life changing time,” she wrote, thanking fans for connecting with her music during what has clearly been a major transition in her life. Giia also opened up about the realities of becoming a mother while continuing to pursue her career.

While having a baby was something she had always wanted, she acknowledged that motherhood would come with sacrifices. She shared advice from her own mother, writing: “you can have it all but not all at once.”

Rather than pushing through her health struggles, Giia said she will be taking time away to heal and write new music inspired by the experience. She described the thought of eventually returning to the stage and dancing with her fans again as her “guiding light.”

The announcement comes as Giia enters a new chapter personally and professionally, balancing life as a new mother with her career as an artist. While fans will have to wait a little longer to see her perform live, her message makes clear that she hopes this is only a temporary pause.

For fans who have supported her throughout this period, the cancellation is undoubtedly disappointing. But Giia’s decision to prioritize her health and recovery also highlights the importance of giving yourself permission to slow down, particularly during such a significant life change.

I've been writing, covering events, and doing interviews with Exron for nearly four years, but have been an EDM-lover for over a decade. The music community and industry has a special place in my heart and I love exploring the depths. EDC Las Vegas is my favorite festival and this year will be my sixth time attending. Some other recent festivals I've been are Ultra, Elements, Lost Lands, Electric Forest, and Arc. I've been getting more into experimental bass, but techno and house will always have my heart. <3
